We are members of the Retail Motor Industry Federation, and of Devon Trading Standards 'Buy With Confidence' scheme. The aim of the Buy with Confidence scheme is to help consumers to avoid rip-offs and cowboys by providing a list of reputable local businesses, in a wide range of different trades. Member companies have been independently checked by staff from the local authority Trading Standards Service against the Scheme rules. All members are subjected to stringent checks by Trading Standards staff to ensure their trustworthiness and compliance with the law. Levels of consumer complaints against members are also monitored on a regular basis.

We have the ability to service and repair your car, no matter what make or model, without infringing any warranty that it may be covered by. All Autosafe garages work to an agreed Code of Practice to help ensure problem-free service and your peace of mind. Work carried out on your vehicle at any Autosafe garage is covered under the Autosafe Nationwide Parts Warranty for either 12,000 miles or 12 months (whichever is the earlier). The warranty card issued with your invoice is your validation of the Autosafe scheme. In the unlikely event that a part should fail within its warranty period, the vehicle will be repaired free of charge. Should you be unable to return to the garage where the work was originally carried out, another Autosafe garage, participating in the scheme, will be pleased to carry out the repair.

Car Maintenance Centre Ltd has pledged its commitment to honest and fair trading by joining thousands of other responsible garages up and down the country, by signing up to the Motor Industry Code of Practice for Service and Repair.

The new Code, currently progressing through the Office of Fair Trading's approval scheme, is a fully independent, consumer-focussed scheme backed by industry, government and consumer groups.

Launched in August 2008, the Code safeguards consumer interests by helping to identify responsible garages and encouraging the sector to set and maintain a high standard of customer service. Developed to respond to consumer concerns over pricing, quality of work and customer service, it offers motorists:
- an online search facility allowing consumers to locate their nearest subscribing garage
- a free consumer advice line (0800 692 0825)
- free conciliation and low-cost, legally binding arbitration

The Motor Industry Code of Practice for Service and Repair commits garages to an open and fair way of doing business. By subscribing to the Code, we are demonstrating our commitment to operate as a responsible business. We have therefore pledged to:

- provide honest and fair services
- complete work as agreed
- provide open and transparent pricing
- issue invoices that match quoted prices
- employ competent and conscientious staff
- operate a straightforward, swift complaints procedure

More than 5,000 garages in the UK have already subscribed to the Code which is currently progressing through the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) Consumer Codes Approval Scheme. It has completed the first stage of this process and is operated by Motor Codes Ltd, the organisation set up to administer a suite of automotive consumer codes.
