All modern vehicles have computers or ECU's (Electronic Control Units) that control many of your vehicles functions. There are a number of sensors that provide the ECU with all necessary information. For example, according to these inputs the engine ECU makes adjustments adding or subtracting fuel, advancing or retarding the ignition timing, increasing or decreasing idle speed, etc. If there is a problem the ECU stores a code that can be retrieved with a special diagnostic tool. The code itself does not tell exactly which part to replace, it only gives a direction where to look for. It is then up to the technician to use his experience to correctly identify the faulty item. At Car Maintenance Centre we have invested heavily in the most up to date equipment that enables us to read the ECU's of almost every make of car, saving you the time and expense of having to visit a main dealer.

You should check your brakes regularly or call in for a brake examination. We measure the wear on brake pads, shoes, brake discs and drums against the manufacturer's specifications. Tyre Fitting

You will find our tyre prices to be very competitive. Our buying network covers several wholesalers which enables us to provide different makes of tyre to suit your budget. We are competitively priced even against the fast fit operations. We offer the major branded names down to budget tyres from very respected manufacturers. Your tyres are probably the most important part of your vehicle. They are the only component in contact with the road surface at all times. If your tyres are below the legal minimum requirement in the U.K., then it may result in 3 penalty points for each defective tyre including the spare. A fine may also apply. Free tyre tread depth and tyre pressure checks are available anytime.

Extras

At C.M.C we can decode your radio and supply you with the code. We also supply and fit new car stereos, speakers, amplifiers and all other stereo enhancements. We also provide and fit batteries, windscreen wipers, bulbs, tow bars, number plates and other extras such as keys and key codes etc.

Sometimes leaving your car at the garage is really inconvenient so we have loan cars at no charge. These must be booked in advance when you book your vehicle in.
